TQ 32 SW CUCKFIELD BROAD STREET

House. Early C17 3-bay timber-framed house refronted and with large late C19
extension to right not of special interest. Ground floor pebbledashed, first floor
tile hung. Old tiled roof. 2 storeys, 1 window built gable end to road. Casement
windows. Later doorcase set in angle with later wing. Chimney stack between 2nd
and 3rd bay. Interior has frame with square panels, diagonal wind braces and jowled
posts. Roof of Queen post construction with original tie-beams and carpenter's
mark. Chamfered spine beam with lambs tongue stops.
