House. c1590 according to deeds but said to be traces of medieval building
(not seen at time of survey) restored and enlarged in C20. Timber framed building
exposed on front with square framing, partly with plaster infilling and partly
brick, hipped roof with some Horsham stone slabs to south and tiled to north.
External brick chimney breast at south end and multiple off-central ridge stack.
2 storeys, 4 windows; C20 casement windows. Modern wings to north and east
not of special interest. Interior ground floor has spine beam and joists with
lambs tongue stops. Large sandstone fireplace with moulded beam above. Said
to be re-roofed but ground floor only inspected. (See Gabe & Ford "The Metropolis
of Mid Sussex").
