Listing Text

1/123 Gravelye
Former farmhouse, now house. Late C16 timber framed 2 bay end chimney stack house
altered C19 and C20. Ground floor red brick, 1st floor tile hung tiled roof.
2 storeys and attics, 2 windows. 1st floor has two original 4 light wooden
ovolo-moulded mullioned and transomed windows with C20 3 light casements to
ground floor. C20 built out gabled porch to left hand side with simple plank
door. 2 corner post are exposed on ground floor. 2 external brick chimney
stacks. C20 additions to rear in matching style. Interior comprises a large
bressummer to the fireplace, chamfered and run out stops and spice cupboard.
4 chambered beams with run out stops on ground floor. Original floor boards
and some carpenters marks. The roof was probably of queenpost or strut type
but the posts are missing though the collars and purlins remain.
