Memorial to 42 miners killed in colliery accident 2 March 1885. By Emley and
Sons of Newcastle; erected by the miners of Usworth Colliery. Painted stone.
Square corniced plinth, inscribed with names of miners buried here and at
(Church of our Blessed Lady Immaculate) Washington, on 2 stone steps;
tapered octagonal shaft has incised flower decoration and low relief gablets
at base; cross finial.
