4 houses, part of terrace of 5 of which no. 5 at left has been demolished.
Circa 1820. English bond brick with painted incised rendered basement and ashlar
dressings; Welsh slate roof; rendered left return gable. Basement, 2 storeys and
attics; each house 3 bays. Fluted round arches with keystone and fluted impost
blocks to fanlights above doors in first bays of nos 4 and 3, third bays of nos
2 and 1; wedge lintels to sash windows, with glazing bars, some altered; sill
bands. Raised brick quoins, gutter cornice and coped parapet to No. 3 (the
central house of the original 5), which projects slightly and also has Greek key
surround to door head, and carved false keystones to lintels. Inserted attics
in roof hipped at right. Wreath-framed faience tablet on no. 2 commemorates it
as the birthplace of Birkett Foster, artist.
