The Old Maltings
G.V. II
Maltings, now workshops. Late C18/early Cl9. Coursed squared sandstone with
ashlar dressings and quoins; brick wing and returns. Welsh slate roof. 3 storeys
and basement; 6 bays; one brick bay slightly set back at left. Main building
has boarded doors in first and sixth bays with stone steps to that in first.
Flat stone lintels and projecting stone sills to small square windows, bricked-
up in basement and boarded on other floors, and longer window in bay 4 on ground
floor. Brick wing at left has timber lintel to bricked-up basement door opening;
soldier course lintel to boarded ground floor window; timber lintel to 2-light
first floor casement.
