Headmaster's house, now private residence. 1876 by J. Johnstone, Newcastle, for
Wallsend Schools Board.
Snecked sandstone with ashlar plinth, quoins and dressings. Welsh slate roof
with decorative ridge tiles; flat stone gable coping. L-plan. Scottish baronial
style. 2 storeys, 3 x 2 bays. Central c.1980 door under overlight, blind bay
above. Paired windows at left under similar pair in hipped half dormer.
Eaves corbel table above first and second bays. High crow-stepped gable over
projecting third bay which contains one-storey canted bay under paired windows
and relieving arch. All windows sashes with glazing bars and sloping sills;
bar-stopped chamfers to all openings. Right return to Station Road has one
blind bay under corbel table and paired sashes under projecting gable.
2 tall corniced and moulded ashlar chimneys.
