School headmaster's house, now private dwelling. 1878 by J. Johnstone for
Wallsend School Board. Snecked sandstone with ashlar plinths, quoins and
dressings; Welsh slate roof with stone gable copings. L-plan. 2 storeys,
2 bays. Central hardboard-covered door and overlight with glazing bars in
one-storey extruded porch with parapet. Gabled projecting left bay has
canted bay window under paired sash and relieving arch; blind bay above
porch; paired sashes in right bay, the upper ones breaking eaves under
gablet. Eaves corbel tables; roll-moulded apex to gable copings on moulded
kneelers; plinth and sloped coping to ridge chimneys.
