Terrace of eight houses. Circa 1839 for Richard Grainger. Sandstone ashlar with
Welsh slate roofs. Nos, one and 2 have basement and three storeys, and No. 1 has
attic. Nos. 3 to 8 have basement and 2 storeys; attics except to No. 5. Nos. 1-5
3 bays; 2 bays Nos. 6-8. Steps to doors, most 4-panelled, with overlights (radial
glazing bars to No. 2). Nos. 1 to 5 have plain reveals to doors and to sash windows,
some with glazing bars; architraves to doors and to windows above. Second bays have
tripartite windows in lugged surrounds, those on ground floor with pilasters and
dentil cornice; other windows mostly renewed, and canted one-storey bay to No. 8 .
First floor band and top cornice. Some later pedimented dormers. Full-width rendered
dormer inserted in Nos. 3 and 4. Ashlar ridge chimneys, one raised in brick.
