4/85 Nos.11, 11A and 13
01/02/67 (Formerly listed as Nos.11 and
Houses, now shops and dwellings. Early C17, with early C19 front range. Timber
framed with whitewashed brick infill; front range red brick with wood modillion
cornice. Pantile roof with parapet and gable parapets; concrete tiles to rear.
Brick stacks. L-plan. 3 storeys; 3-window range. Central paired entrances with
6-panelled doors, No.ll half-glazed and overlights, and simple wood pilasters.
No.11 has late C19 canted bay with some decorative leaded glazing. No,iiA has
late C19 canted shop bay. Fascia across entire facade, with single flat roof
over bays. Opening on left to Bull's Head Yard. Upper floors have sashes,
16-pane on first floor, with gauged brick flat arches, To rear small 2-storey
range with jowled post and curved brace. Long wing with some diagonal braces,
End wall rebuilt in C19 red brick. 6-panelled door and hood on shaped brackets.
C19 and C20 sashes and casements. C17 stack has 3 square shafts with V-shaped
pilasters, Interior: Exposed framing and ceiling beams; other beams boxed. Room
at rear of No.ll has open fireplace and stepped stop-chamfered ceiling beams.
Most of rear wing now forms No.13 High Street.
