Westfield House (Manor Farm)
Manor house. c.1835. Entrance front of coursed squared ironstone; garden front
of ashlar; moulded cornices. Tile double-span roof has coped gable parapets;
ashlar end stacks. Double-depth plan. Late Georgian style. 3 storeys; 4-window
range. High plinth has blocked window. Entrance in first bay has moulded
6-panelled door and overlight in painted wood doorcase with fluted strips,
Tuscan pilasters and entablature. Flight of 8 steps with iron handrail. Horned
sashes. Lower second floor has 6-pane sashes. Fourth bay projects slightly and
has 20-pane sash on ground floor, 16-pane sash on first and 8-pane sash on
second floors. Flat roof. Stone flat arches throughout. Louvred false shutters.
Fine garden front is a 5-window range. Central French window with glazing bars
and overlight with decorative glazing. Stone doorcase of Tuscan pilasters and
entablature. Ground floor has 20-pane, first floor 16-pane and second floor
8-pane sashes. Stone wedge lintels with key-blocks. Interior not inspected, but
noted as having panelled shutters.
