Courtroom and dairy range forming 2 sides of courtyard. C17. Finely jointed
coursed squared limestone. Steeply pitched stone slate roof laid to diminishing
courses. Stone coped gables. Courtroom: 2 storeys. 2 entrances to ground floor
of courtroom. Plank doors. Moulded wood doorframes and wood lintels. Three
2-light stone-mullioned windows with hood moulds and label stops. First floor
has tall opening with wood lintel. Interior: arched braced collar beam roof with
through purlins. Principal rafters pegged at apex. Common rafters. Walls
plastered. 2 courses of nesting holes on exterior. Dairy range. 2 storeys.
2-window range. Ground floor has 2 entrances to left with wood doorframes and
wide plank doors. Wood lintels. A 4-light and a 3-light stone-mullioned window
to right with hood moulds and label stops. 3 blocked lights. First floor has two
3-light stone-mullioned windows with hood mould and label stops. 4 blocked
lights. Attached covered way with red tiled roof. Interior: brewhouse/washhouse
to left has stop-chamfered bressumer to fireplace, brick copper, enclosed wood
winder staircase. Cheese rooms above. Stop-chamfered beams. Dairy to right has
stone flag floors.
