GV II

Two houses. C17/C18, with late C20 alterations. Coursed squared ironstone rubble
with late C20 ribbon pointing. 3 roofs on different levels have slates in centre
and artificial slates with coped gable parapets to left and right; stone end
stacks to centre and right roofs. Each irregular 2-unit plan. 2 storeys; each
2-window range. Ivy Dene on left has wide basket carriage arch with voussoirs in
central range. Entrance to rear, through arch, has C20 door. C20 casements to
left with painted wood lintel on ground floor and stone flat arch above. C18/C19
rear addition. Clefs has late Tudor arch door in single storey range to right.
Stone-mullioned windows with fire window on right, and two 2-light windows, on
left with hood mould. Two late C20 three-light mullions, on ground floor with
hood mould. interior not inspected. Attached former stable or malthouse on
right, converted to garages. Slate roof. Upper door in gable end to School Lane
has external stone staircase.
