Carpenters Cottage

GV II

House; part of row. 1651, with C20 alterations. Coursed squared ironstone rubble. Stone slate roof; ashlar internal stack; right end stacks have brick shafts. 2-unit plan. 2 storeys; 3-window range. Central C20 part-glazed door; hood mould. Square projection on right, possibly for bread oven. Chamfered stone mullioned windows with leaded lights: 2-light to right and above door, 3-light to left. First floor has two C20 windows with glazing bars. To rear: one old 3-light leaded casement. Datestone has moulded sunk panel and cornice. Interior not inspected. One first floor room extends into Sunny Cottage (q.v.).
