1/230 Rivendell and attached barn
Farmhouse. Mid C18, Coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings to windows.
Tile roof with ashlar and brick end stack. 2 storeys plus attic; 4-window range.
3-unit plan. Ground and first floor have four C18 wood cross casements, most
with 16 panes, but 2 retaining original leaded glaring. All have stone flat
arches. 2 flat-topped C20 dormers. To left a C20, one-storey-and-attic range.
Door is in C20 porch to rear. Also to rear 2 further wood cross casements to
first floor. Attached to left by a small C20 room a large late C18 barn, of
coursed limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and coped gables. Slate roof. Brick
dentilled eaves cornice. Original large entrance, now blocked by C20 brick.
Interior of house: C18 turned baluster staircase. Two C18 cupboards with moulded
rails. Open fireplace with chamfered timber bressumer with jewel stops.
Chamfered and stopped spire beams and joists. Queen strut roof with original
purlins. Some stone flagged floors.
