SOUTHAM DAVENTRY ROAD
SP4261 (South side)
House. Late C17/early C18, with large late C18/early C19 additions. Colourwashed
brick in Flemish bond with dentilled eaves cornice. Slate and tile roofs with
brick end stacks. L-shaped plan. 2 storeys and one storey plus attic; 3-window
range of 16-pane sashes to first floor, and C18 paned 2-light casement with
'candle' panel to ground floor right. C20 casement to first floor right.
Panelled/glazed door within pilaster surround with hood to centre. Late
CI7/early C18 timber-framed range to rear with brick infill has two C20 dormers,
and two C19 doors. Interior: chamfered spine beams with run-out stops in later
range. Stick-baluster staircase. Queen-post roof with curved principal rafters
in earlier range. 6-panelled doors to ground and first floors, with one late
Cl7/early C18 plank door to first floor of earlier range.
