4/11 Herd Hill Farmhouse

GV II

Farmhouse. Mid C18. Squared, coursed limestone with ironstone lintels to door
and windows, and ironstone coped gables. Old tile roof with brick end stacks.
Two-unit plan. 2 storeys plus attic; 3-window range. To centre a C20 plank door,
with overlight above. Renewed lintel with keyblock. To left and right, and to
first floor, 12-pane unhorned sashes with stone sills and lintels with
keyblocks. To left and right of roof a C20 dormer. To rear two C18
one-storey-plus-attic ranges, that to right with a 16-pane sash. Interior: 3
open fireplaces, one with a cambered, chamfered bressumer, another has its
bressumer refaced. One has original baking oven. Spine beams, some chamfered,
with ogee stops. Said to have original timbers to roof.
