House. C17 with C18 and C20 additions. Ironstone ashlar, and coursed, squared
rubble with stone slate roof and stone ridge and end stacks. 2 storeys. 5-window
range. Complex plan. Plank door with 4-centred arch and hood mould within C20
two-storey gabled porch, with 2-light mullioned window above. To right of porch
on ground and first floors a C20 two-light mullioned window. To left of porch in
C20 staircase range a wood casement with hood mould. First floor storey band to
porch and adjoining ranges. Further one-storey entrance and service range to
left. Behind a large C18 range of 2 storeys plus attic. To right of first floor
a 12-pane sash. To centre and left a 24-pane casements. Windows have stone sills
and lintels, that to centre with keyblock. 2 gabled dormers to centre and right
of roof. Range extending to rear from right has 2- and 3-light stone mullioned
windows, some with transoms and mostly renewed or possibly new. 0eil-de-boauf
window to top right. Interior: some C18 doors and cupboards. Said to have been
formerly an inn and to have Civil War connections.
