Simple C18 2 storey plus attic 7 window red brick facade with sashes in
wide moulded cased frames and heavy glazing bars to first floor. Gauged
brick arches. Plain key blocks, string band at first floor, sills, moulded
cornice at eaves and plinth all in painted stonework. 4 dormers with pediments
of steep pitch in well weathered tile roof. Carved wood doorcase (off
centre) of curious "Masonic" design with attached "Egyptian" columns. Stained
glass formerly in tympanum inscribed 'Shakespear Lodge ... founded 1791."
Early C19 inner reeded doorcase. Interior: panelled room and C18 staircase.
