Good, mainly early to mid C17, 3 storey house of 4 bays. Extensive restoration,
which included the uncovering of the timber framing, can be considered
satisfactory. Modern casements and leaded lights. Four flush gables with
band of geometrical timber framing under second floor sill level. The
first storey is of close square timber framing with two sections of chevron
framing near the centre. The ground floor storey is of (?) earlier, vertical,
fairly close set studding. Upper floors are jettied, with moulded projecting
floor joists, fragments of carving to bressummers and heavy console brackets.
Stone plinth. Old tiles. VCH, viii, pp.429, 435.

All the listed buildings on the north-west side from Nos 78 to 98
form a group
