Chapel Hill Farmhouse
House. The remains of the mediaeval chapel of St James are embodied in the
rear wing of a small late C17 red brick farmhouse. L-shaped plan. The whole
extensively modernised 1970s. The older portion is 13 ft wide and 40 ft long.
Of ashlar without plinths. One storey and attic. Modern fenestration with
glazing bars and four gabled dormers. Steeply pitched modern tile roof with
gabled ends. The C17 portion forms the range to the west. Two storeys and
attic, three bays. Steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends. At
ground floor three cambered arched openings with modern canted bays inserted.
At first floor three 3-light casements and three gabled dormers. All modern
fenestration with glazing bars. Two gable end chimney stacks.
