STONELEIGH Stareton Village

Circa C17 timber-framed cottage range encased in red brick in C18/early C19.
Timber-framing exposed in east gable and corner posts. On sandstone foundations.
Steeply pitched plain tile roof with gabled ends. Brick modillion eaves
cornice. Brick string band between ground and first floors. Two storeys and
attic, three window range. Central modern door (to No 2) with a three-light
casement to left and right, that to left in segmental arched opening and with
glazing bars, that to right altered to square headed and without glazing bars.
Three first floor square headed casements, two of three-lights and a central
two-light, glazing bars only to that to left. Later brick lean-to attached to
east gable. Square central brick ridge chimney stack.
