House. Probably late C16 with encasement of c.1700. Stone ashlar plinth; red
brick with flared headers in Flemish bond; plain-tile hipped roof; C20 rebuilt
brick stacks flank flat platform at top of roof. Double-depth plan. 2 storeys
and attic; 3-window range. 6-panel door to centre with plain stone surround
having oval window above door. C20 angled bay windows with hipped plain-tile
roofs to left and right. C20 wood cross-windows to first floor, with segmental
brick heads. Dog-tooth brick course between ground and first floors. Giant order
Doric brick pilasters between bays and at ends. Cut brick cornice to eaves.
Doorways to inner sides of chimney stacks with plank doors form entrances to
roof platform. Left and right returns: stone ashlar plinth; red brick with
flared headers in Flemish bond. 2 storey and attic; 3-window range. C20 angled
bay windows with hipped plain-tile roofs to left and right. C20 wood
cross-windows to first floor left and right, with segmental brick heads. C20
wood transom windows to first floor centre. Dog-tooth brick course between
ground and first floors. Giant order Doric brick pilasters between bays and at
ends. Cut brick cornice to eaves. 2 gabled full dormers. Interior: straight
flight staircase from ground to first floors with pierced splat balustrade.
Winder staircase from first floor to attic. Winder staircases from attic to roof
platform. Open fireplaces to most rooms, chamfered spine beams with stepped
stops to most rooms.
