Astrop House

1/69 Astrop House
Cottage. C16/C17 with C18/early C19 additions to left and right, and substantial
mid C20 rear additions. Timber framed: small framing with plastered infill.
Additions of whitewashed brick. High whitewashed stone plinth. Old tile roof;
brick ridge and left end stacks. 2-unit formerly lobby-entry plan extended to
3-unit plan; C20 rear wing. One storey and attic; 4 ground-floor windows. Timber
framed range has blocked doorway with tile hood. C18/C19 slightly projecting
4-light casements with horizontal glazing bar to left and left range. C20 window
projects to right. Left range has small window on right, and brick arches.
Entrance in C20 rear wing. Interior said to have exposed beams. The rear wing is
not of special architectural interest.
