Cottage. C17 with C19 underbuilding, and C18 rear wing. Minor C20 alterations.
Timber framed with plastered infill, possibly over wattle and daub. Left and
right ends and return sides underbuilt in brick. Rear wing of whitewashed brick.
Thatched roof; brick end stacks. Two-unit plan extended to L-plan, with wing on
left to rear. One storey and attic, one-window range. 3-window ground floor has
central plank door and adjoining window. Late C20 open porch of old timbers has
hipped thatched roof. Late C20 two-light casements with glazing bars. First
floor has eyebrow dormer on left with small old 2-light casement. Return sides
have 2-light attic casements. Rear wing has C20 half-glazed door and mid C20
open-fronted porch. 3-light casement. Swept dormer has 2-light casement.
Interior: front room, formerly 2, has 2 altered open fireplaces. Exposed framing
and ceiling beams. Rear wing has stepped-stop-chamfered ceiling beam. First
floor has some exposed wattle and daub. Through-purlin roof. Included for group
value.
