No.9 and adjoining cottage

Semi-detached cottages, originally part of a longer row. C17/early C18. Cottage
to left has C19/C20 and late C20 additions and alterations. Timber framed: large
framing with whitewashed brick infill. Additions of whitewashed brick. Thatched
roof; brick right end stack. No.9 is a one-unit plan. Both are of one storey and
attic. One-window range. Plank door. Small 2-light and one-light windows to
right have horizontal glazing bar. Small window below eaves. Both cottages have
cross-glazed 2-light casements to first floor. Right return side of brick, with
fragments of timber framing of demolished adjacent cottage projecting beyond it.
Cottage to left is a one-unit plan extended to 2-unit plan and then to L-plan,
with wing on right to rear. 2-window range, Timber framed right part has 2-light
casement with glazing bars. Swept dormer. Slightly lower left part has two C20
three-light casements. Small window above. Late C20 porch to left return side,
flush with front, has hipped roof. Blazed double-leaf doors. Interiors not
inspected.
