House, now club and offices. Late C17 with late C19/early C20 alterations and
additions. Rendered. Plain-tile hipped roof; purple brick lateral and valley
stacks. H-plan. 2 storeys and attic; 2-3-2 bays. Front is almost symmetrical and
has rusticated alternating quoins, string course and elaborate moulded cornice.
Deep]y-recessed centre has ground floor filled in by single-storey 3-window
addition with panelled and balustraded parapet. Left wing has panelled door and
overlight to second bay. 2-light late C19/early C20 windows with glazing bars,
top-hung to ground floor, with casements and central French window to first
floor. Return sides have 2 lateral stacks; left side has 2 pedimented 2-light
dormers. Rear is irregular. Part of centre is recessed beneath continuous
cornice and separate roof. Sashes. Left wing has large C19 sandstone ashlar
canted bay with moulded cornice and French windows. Right wing has dormers.
Interior noted as having late C17 staircase with turned balusters.
