Farmhouse. C17 with C18 left part and wing and later alterations. Sandstone
rubble; timber framed gables have infill of brick to left and stone to right.
Plain-tile roof; large brick external stacks and ridge stack. Through-passage
L-plan with wing on right to rear. 2 storeys; 4-window range. Half-glazed
4-panelled door to third bay has painted wood lintel. Fire window to left. C19
and C20 three-light casements with varying horizontal glazing bars; fourth bay
has similar 2-light casements. Ground-floor windows on left have C19 brick
segmental arches; first floor windows have some brick patching around the
openings. Left return side has arched plank door in rear wing. Rear is
irregular. Wing has been partially demolished. Bricked-up openings. Left return
side has cornice. Large round arch with keystone is partly obscured by C19/C20
lean-to. Plank door. Interior: room to left has large open fireplace. Ceiling
beam has run-out chamfer. Other rooms have rough ceiling beams. Wide
straight-flight staircase. First floor has exposed queen strut trusses; 2
segmental-arched doorways with a C18 two-panelled door and a ledged door are cut
through a tie beam. One room has rough stud partition.
