5/101 The Malthouse
GV II
Farmhouse, now house, C17 with later alterations, restored late C20.
Timber-framed with brick infill panels and some brick rebuilding, sandstone
plinth; plain tile roof; brick ridge stack and integral end stack. Aligned
east-west facing south with cross-wing to the west end. One storey and attic.
Gabled wing to the left with close studding surmounted by one tier of square
panels, curved braces, and a roof truss with V-struts above the collar and
vertical struts below; C20 plank door to cellar, C20 bow window to ground storey
and C20 casement to attic. 1:2 window front. Brick range to the right with C20
casements including gabled attic dormers, and a brick porch dated 1977 with
plank door. Interior not inspected.
