Listing Text

1352-0/2/34 Peacock Hill

Cottage. 2 builds, north part early C19, south part C18 or
earlier altered in mid C19. Built of Isle of Wight stone
rubble with red brick dressings rendered over, with thatched
roof. North part of 2 storeys 3 windows. Hipped thatched roof
with 1 brick chimneystack. 1st floor has 1 round-headed
window, 1 square window and 1 blocked round-headed window.
Ground floor has thatched verandah supported on 8 square
wooden piers. Behind this are 3 pointed arched blocked windows
with projecting wooden cills. Right-hand door with 6 flush
panels, iron doorknocker and 3-light fanlight with leaded
lights. South part is of lower elevation, pebbledashed with
hipped thatched roof and 1 cemented chimneystack. West
elevation has 2 window openings, one bricked up, the other
boarded over and central mid C19 wooden square bay. East
elevation has 1 round-headed dormer and C19 slate roofed
Interior has simple chamfered beam and 4-panelled door.
