II

Farmhouse and barn, late C18 - early C19. Chalkstone and flint on
sarsen sill walls, south front rendered. Tiled roofs. 3-bay barn
and 2-storey, 2 bay farmhouse set gable to road, and 3 bay 1-storey
extension to house, all in line. House with central stair hall and
flanking reception rooms. 6-panelled door and fanlight under
simple bracketed canopy. C19 2-storey canted bay windows with 4-
pane sashes. Gable stacks and quarter-hipped roof to road gable of
barn. Rear elevation with blocked cart entrance to barn, and
casement and paned windows. All ground floor windows with
segmental heads. The rear elevation forms an important visual
feature at the entrance to the village.
