9/64 Outbuilding to rear of No 11
South Street


Fustian mill, now outbuilding. Early C19 diaper brickwork facade on
brick and sarsen structure with slate roof. Allegedly originally
3-storey, now 2, 5 bays, 1 bay deep. Central sliding doors
recessed and round-headed doors in end bays. Short segmental
headed 8-pane sashes to both floors. Hipped roof with wide
overhang and 2 ridge ventilators. A survival of a once important
industry in the village, lasting from 1660 to c1880.
