The Croft

GV II

House. C17 and mid C18. Originally timber framed, now brick with thatched roof. Originally 2-bay framed cottage gable to road, nearest bay rebuilt and extended left in C18 to form 2-storey 5 bay farmhouse with cellar to left bay. Central 6-panel door with C20 porch raised on 3 steps. Four bays of elevation with plat band and header blue brick bond between windows. Fifth window bay later, replacing nearest bay of earlier cottage. Timber 2 and 3-light casement windows with some brick lintels, some windows blocked. Interior: Stack of original cottage built in and oven removed. Spine beams.
