Gate Piers and Gates
to Manor House
Gate piers and gates. 1882, erected for 2nd Earl of Normanton.
Portland stone piers and iron gates and railings. Four piers,
rusticated and panelled, and having a dentilled cornice and ball
finials. Two centre piers set back with curved dwarf walls with
moulded copings carrying fine railings with elaborate floral
scrolls. Pedestrian gate to left with overthrow carrying date and
initials GJ. Similar overthrow without gate to right. Suspended
lantern cages and bell pull with pivoted bell.
