House, C15, timber-framed with stone slate roofs and south end
stack. Two storeys. Main range has exposed heavy close studding
with jettied upper floor and rubble stone plinth with 6 low
buttresses. First floor has curved tension braces, 2 triple
casements to left, one to right. Ground floor has fine early C19
shopfront to left, 32-pane bowed window flanked by flush panelling,
4-panel door and 6-pane window to right. Original low plank
doorway in moulded oak frame to right of centre, then very small
original 3-light timber oriel and a casement pair. One large
moulded post up to jetty between oriel and end window. Brick south
end wall, timber-framed north wall. Lower 2-storey timber framed
C17 addition to north with square framing, straight tension braces,
2 window range of casements and end stack. Interior not inspected:
said to be former hall-house.
