Toll Gate Cottage

Cottage. C17. Flint with limestone dressings. Timber framed gables. Thatched roof. Single storey and attic, 2 bays. Lobby entry plan but through passage between back-to-back stacks leading to later extension, but probably originally a second entrance. Central boarded door under extension of roof forming porch. Timber windows with diamond leading. Stair window left of door. West gable timber framed above wall plate and having brick noggings. Roof half hipped and central C17 brick stack with added flue. Full length C20 slated brick lean-to at rear. Interior has main parlour to east, with deep chamfered spine beam, and original kitchen in west bay.
