3/89 Milestone at Upper Herdswick
Farm

Milestone on former Swindon to Marlborough turnpike. Mid C18.
Stone. Stem of triangular section with grooved top and square
base. Incised legend almost illegible. The route through Four-
Mile Clump was turnpiked in 1762.
