SU 17 SE OGBOURNE ST GEORGE HIGH STREET
(west end)

II
Cottage. C17 or earlier. Timber framed with brick noggings, road
front rebuilt in colourwashed stone. C20 pantiled roof. Single
storey and low attics, 3 bays, with central living hall and large
stone stack to left. Entrance in cross passage at lower end, and
service room beyond to right. Behind stack an unheated parlour.
Boarded door in tiled lean-to porch. Framing 2 panels high.
Three-light timber windows with timber lintels, and gabled flush
dormers in bays 1 and 2, and one to rear. Interior not seen;
reputed to have chamfered mantel beam and oven to central living
hall.
