SU 16 NW WEST OVERTON CHURCH HILL
9/127 Church Hill Cottage
GV II
Cottage. C17 or earlier, with later additions. Colourwashed brick
with thatched roof. Two main builds, the north end of single
storey and attic, 2 bays, extended to rear (west) side.
Fragmentary timber framing including foot of probable cruck truss.
Sarsen rear wall. Timber paned windows and 2 flush dormers.
Southern end also of 2 bays, with C20 lean-to to front containing
present entrance. Stack at junction of 2 builds and central to
south build. A picturesque assemblage on the slope of the hill
below the church.
