10/177 Manor Farmhouse


Farmhouse at right angles to road, now house. C17, early C19 and
later. Timber framed, faced in colourwashed and rendered brick.
Slate roof. Two storeys, cellar and attics, 6 bays. Through hall
in third bay with main stack backing on to passage. Mid C19 rear
wing on right, and later C19 build in re-entrant angle, service
room, now dining room. Original structure timber framed with
wattle and daub infilling, of two builds, the right half wider and
containing the stair, probably originally gabled at road end.
Half-glazed C19 door in open trellis porch with swept lead roof.
Stone-mullioned 2-light windows now with mid C20 metal casements.
Roof hipped, with central 3-flue stack and stacks added to gables.
Interior: Late C17 stair in stairwell with plaster coved cornice
and central oval ceiling moulding. Panelled doors and internal
boxed shutters. Roof of trussed collar form supporting double
