12/82 No 49 The Chantry

GV II

House. c1870. Red brick with blue brick banding. Patterned tile
roof. Two storeys, 2 gabled bays with inset gabled porch leading
to through stair hall. Boarded door wth false iron hinges. Porch
has steep gable with open truss on pierced brackets. Miniature
gable behind at eaves level. Diamond lattice casement windows with
cambered lintels of red and blue bricks on stone springers. Roof
with spiked ridges. Ribbed gable stacks.
Interior has moulded door frames and wood fireplace surrounds.
Cornice in right room and ovolo moulded ceiling joists in hall.
Further block to right set back and with half-hipped gable.
Extension to rear.
