II

House, c1780. Brick with slate roof. Two storeys and cellar, 3 x
3 bays, L-plan with mid C19 block in re-entrant angle. central
wide hall leading to rear stair, and flanking reception rooms.
Facade has end brick pilasters linked by oversailing eaves.
Central 6-panelled door enclosed in C20 brick flat roofed porch,
with side door of 1972. Twelve-paned sash windows with thin
glazing bars and concealed boxes.
Interior has well modelled Carrara marble fireplaces to both front
rooms, panelled doors and folding shutters. Rear stair curved,
with turned balusters and brackets to treads.
