6/249 Six Neale headstones against east
wall of chancel, Church of
St. Andrew


Group of six tall headstones reset close to east wall of chancel.
Early C19. Sandstone. All with good inscriptions and elaborate
low relief carving including trumpeting angels, draped urns, crown,
ribbons and foliage. From north:
a. John Neale, 1801.
b. Philip Neale, 1821.
c. Ann Neale, 1796.
d. Thomas Neale, died by a momentary stroke, 1788.
e. Frances Neale, 1785, and
f. Philip Neale, died 1791.
