entrance to Erlestoke House
GV II
Gates, gate piers and connecting railings forming recessed entrance
to Erlestoke House, H.M. Prison. Early C19. Piers of colourwashed
stone, panelled, with cornice and capping block, connected by low
stone walls and copings carrying ornamental wrought iron railings
with cast iron fleur terminals to rails and dog rails. Railings
are swept up to join piers, and have twisted iron stanchions.
