11/249 Wedhampton Cottage
GV II
House. Probably C17, much extended in C19. Roughcast on timber
framing with stone sill walls, and brickwork. Thatched roof.
South section 2 storey and rear section single storey and attic,
being a 2 - 3 bay framed building set gable to road, and with a
jettied upper floor. Studded timber door on south side and leaded
windows. West side extended in early C19 cottage ornee style with
open 4-bay verandah part flint, with rustic door and window frames,
and 3-light pointed arched dormers. Building much extended
towards north extending as a 3 storey cross wing, all forming a
picturesque assemblage. Interior not seen, may be of interest.
