Revolving crane for Kennet and Avon Canal Co. 1831, restored 1972-
8. Timber. An octagonal main shaft with head bearing carrying
revolving framework comprising a jib arm framed to horizontal
shears, carrying counterbalance stone weights in tail. Manual
winding gear pinions gearing down from l10mm dia to 965mm, with
iron drum and ratchet check. Throw of gib 4.55m (2.66m over
canal).
