BURBAGE GRAFTON ROAD

Two cottages in block. C17 and early Cl9. Earlier building timber
framed, the later of brick. Thatched roof. Single storey and
attic, each of 2 bays. The left, earlier, cottage (No 2)
originally single storey, has irregular framing, 2 panels high,
raised at front by third panel. Central C20 gabled porch and half-
glazed door. Timber casement windows and two flush dormers. Roof
hipped left. Rebuilt stack on party wall, probably originally an
external gable stack. Right cottage has similar porch and timber
and metal windows and small window to cupboard at side of stack.
Roof half hipped to right. C20 service extension to rear.
Interior of No 2 has chamfered spine beam and blocked fireplace
with timber lintel. Timber framed partition to inner room. Poor
condition at February 1987.
