Farmhouse. C16 and 1783. Flemish brickwork with tiled roof. Two
storeys, cellars and attics. Three bays, with rear wing to centre,
also of 3 bays. Central entrance, a fine late C17 moulded 6-panel
door with three-paned overlight, and moulded timber canopy on
brackets. Blue brick flush plat band. Twelve-paned sashes with
slender glazing bars, and gauged brick lintels. Offsetting brick
dentilled eaves. Mansard roof with 3 hipped dormers, each with 4-
paned sashes. Stacks to gables. Rear wing has 12 and 16-paned
sashes and a gable stack.
Interior incorporates part of a C16 house, possibly that of the
Esturmey family. Major C16 stone fireplace with Tudor arch and
spandrels, and a restored stone shelf, set in parlour to right of
centre stair hall. Cross beams with ogee chamfer stops. South
bedroom on first floor has late C17 cupboard face with an inset
fine linenfold panel. Good C19 cast iron fireplace.
