9/241 No 1 (The Crown Inn)

Inn. Cl7, altered C19. Timber framed, rendered to front. Slate
roof. Two storeys, 4 bays, extended to left in C19 by further
single bay. Lobby entry plan, with half glazed door in C19 porch
with carved barge boards and finial. Wide mid-C19 four-paned sash
windows but canted bay window to left of entrance and small square
bay on right. Left bay has secondary door in square bay with side
lights. C19 extension has similar windows. Cogged brick eaves.
Gable stacks and stack in third bay opposite door. Exposed timber
framing on north gable end, 3 panels high with corner braces. Two
bay rear extension in brick laced flint behind central bay and
various later C19 and C20 additions. Interior altered.
