C18. Double wrought-iron gates at entrance to forecourt of Abbey House.
Also 2 sections of low wall with railings to left and right. Gates and
railings incorporate spear motif. 2 ashlar piers, set wide apart, with
plinths and entablatures supporting large stone urns. The piers are attached
to coursed stone walls with plain copings running to west around the forecourt.

All the listed buildings in Church Street the Chantry Little Chantry,
Barton Orchard and the Catholic Church of St Thomas More, Market Street
form a group with Nos 7 and 9 to 19 Barton Orchard, Nos 5 and 6 and 27
to 31 (consec) and wall Newtown.
